This is the privacy policy for the Screams in Space website. We're a two-piece DIY band from central-southeastern Indiana. We tried to write this in plain language. If anything's unclear, email us at contact@screamsinspace.online and we'll explain.
What we collect
The only thing we ask you for is your email address, and only if you choose to sign up for our mailing list. We don't ask for anything else. We don't have account signups, comments, or any other forms that collect personal information.
How we collect it
Email addresses are collected through a signup form on our homepage that submits directly to Buttondown (buttondown.com), the email service we use to send out band updates. When you submit your email, it goes to Buttondown's servers. We don't store it anywhere else on our end.
What we do with it
We use your email to send you occasional updates: new releases, merch drops, shows (if and when we play them), and other Screams in Space news. We don't send promotional emails for things that aren't us. We don't sell your address. We don't share it with anyone besides Buttondown, who needs it to deliver the emails to you.
Analytics and tracking
We don't use Google Analytics or any other analytics service. We don't set our own cookies. We don't track which pages you visit, how long you stay, or where you came from.
Embedded third-party content
Our site embeds music players from Spotify so you can stream our songs without leaving the page. Spotify may set its own cookies and collect data about the embed (for example, whether the player loaded). We don't control what Spotify does with that — please see their privacy policy if you want the details.
The same applies to any external link you click on this site — to Apple Music, YouTube Music, TikTok, our future Bandcamp page, or anywhere else. Once you leave our site, those companies' policies apply.
How to unsubscribe
Every email we send through Buttondown has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Click it and you're out immediately, no questions asked. You can also email us at contact@screamsinspace.online to ask us to remove your address, or to ask any other questions about your data.
Children's privacy
This site isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has signed up to our mailing list and you'd like them removed, email us and we'll take care of it.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we'll update the date at the top. Significant changes will also be announced through the mailing list.
